Smart Food Culinary Symposium -2023 organised by the Faculty of Hospitality Management and Catering Technology, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences in association with Karnataka State Department of Agriculture , Government of Karnataka . The symposium chaired by Shri Shivayogi C. Kalsad, Secretary to Govt. Agriculture Department, GoK. will be followed by a theme lunch which will showcase around 50 traditional and innovative dishes with the different varieties of millets served in a village ambience.

WSET Programme, 21st-23rd June 2022
FHMCT has collaborated with Tulleeho Wine and Spirits Academy to conduct the WSET (Level 2) Award in Spirits. Mr Madhu Rajigani gave the participants knowledge of fundamental production methods and principal raw materials used to make the key spirit styles. The participants also explored the key practices and principles of serving spirits and the use of spirits in cocktail. They learned the impact of production methods on styles, characteristics of the principal international spirits and liqueurs and how to describe spirits using the WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting Spirits. The participants also learnt about different kinds of fruit spirits, liqueurs, and classic cocktail recipes and overall operation of a bar in general.
They tasted spirits including different styles of whisky, brandies, pomace liqueur, rum, cognac, tequila, vodka and liqueurs like Cointreau, Triple sec, Absenta and Campari. Finally, they learnt about alcohol safety. A scholarship has been awarded by FHMCT to Chandan N D of Batch 2020

6th Annual Convocation 2022
Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences conducted its Sixth Convocation on Monday, 14th March 2022 at Gnangangothri Campus, New BEL Road, Bangalore. Degrees were conferred to Undergraduates, Postgraduates and Research Scholars. Prof. Kuldeep Kumar Raina, Vice Chancellor-RUAS welcomed the gathering, Prof, Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE was the chief guest of the function and delivered the Convocation Address. Dr. M. R. Jayaram, Chancellor of the University presided over the convocation ceremony, gave away the gold medal to Mr. Manjunath Babu and the silver medal to Mr. Nikhil Ranganath who are the toppers of batch 2017, FHMCT. Pro. Abby Mathew, Dean FHMCT conferred Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) degrees to 84 graduands.
World Tourism Day 2021 Celebrations
Faculty of Hospitality Management and Catering Technology (FHMCT) , RUAS in collaboration with the India Tourism Ministry of Tourism, Government of Karnataka, organized the World Tourism day celebrations 2021 at the Seminar Hall, FHMCT on 27th of September 2021. The event started by a welcome address by Dean of FHMCT Prof. Abby Mathew. Following welcome the address, the event was presided over by our Honorable Vice Chancellor Dr. Kuldeep Raina.

United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Students’ League Challenge
A team of final year students (Batch 2016)- Jakin B, Deven M, Ashish N, Pallab R & Shivani S were shortlisted for the UNWTO- United Nations World Tourism Organisation Students’ League Challenge.
The challenge started in the month of March 2020 and ended in July 2020. The monthly challenge reflected the real tourism issue that the sector is facing; focused on real problems looking for real solutions in areas. The four international level case studies were aligned with theme of SDG –Sustainable Development Goals of 2030 with the emphasis on goals 8, 12 & 14 in which tourism featured. The team was required to submit case study solutions and proposal under the guidance of their faculty representative Dr. Sweety Jamgade every month. The students have proved their critical skills and successfully completed the challenge and secured the top 10th rank in the East Countries colleges list.
